I want one of these
I know this video has probably been plastered all over the place by now, but what kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t do my part to ensure a viral video spread like a virus? I can’t help but laughing every time I watch this entire video, but my favourite part by far is the line “Mother fucking time vampire”. I’m going to make a conscious effort to assimilate that term into my mainstream conversation whenever applicable.

Bacon Cheese Pizza Burger
This looks so good and so disgusting all at the same time. No matter how disgusting you think it is though, I would like to see somebody turn down at least a taste of this creation. You know curiosity would get the best of you, and you would have to try it if it were in front of you. I grabbed this pic from a pretty cool site thisiswhyyourefat.com and the description for this amazing culinary marvel is: “Giant burger between two large meat pizzas, eggs, bacon, colby and pepper jack cheese.”

The Trilogy Meter
I figured I would share this. This is a fairly accurate rating of several different movie trilogies, in my opinion.

Bye Bye Bush
I offer this as my tribute to President Bush on his last day as President:
Movie weekend
I decided to watch a few movies this week and catch up on some R&R. Nothing spectacular, but I downloaded way more movies than I could watch in one weekend. And I also came close to breaking my transfer cap on Rogers, which I will post about later. Here are the movies I watched this weekend:
Old School: older, but funny
Slumdog Millionaire: awesome story, just a tad overhyped though
Return to Paradise: older, but a decent movie
Seven Pounds: a bit long, a bit boring at times, but was entertaining overall
I think there was another movie in there somewhere, but I can’t remember. I also watched part of the second season of Life which doesn’t count as a movie.

Dahil’s 30th
Just got back from Dahil’s 30th surprise birthday bash. It was an awesome turnout at a pretty cool venue, OddFellow’s in Queen West. Good food, plenty of drinks with a good bunch of people. And Mike seemed pretty surprised to see everyone.
Here is a pic of Mike standing behind his picture that was posted on the door, click for a link to the whole gallery:
I’m free.. almost
One of the announcements today during the Apple Keynote at Mac World was that iTunes will soon be completely DRM free. It seems the first step was taken today, where a huge chunk of music was upgraded to the 256 Kbps non DRM AAC audio files. This is good news, since I like to listen to my music on a variety of devices, and find it very convenient to download from iTunes. A while back I refused to buy any more DRM content from iTunes, since my collection was growing and I was limited to where I could play my legitimately purchased music.
The one part of this I find unfair as a long time loyal iTunes customer, is that I now have to pay to upgrade my existing DRM music that has now had its DRM stripped. I guess they could use the argument that the iTunes plus tracks are double the bitrate, but the compression on 128 Kbps AAC is so damn good, it is hard to tell the difference.
The main page of the iTunes store now has an “Upgrade My Library” option on the right pane, which showed 99+ for me. I have a “Special Offer” to upgrade 181 of my DRM tracks to iTunes plus for a total of $60. Although 40 cents per song isn’t that bad to upgrade, it really adds up. I am going to have to think hard about how portable I really want all of this music to be. Not to mention I will have more to upgrade as Apple continues to push more of the music to iTunes Plus.

Update:
I should probably note that you can’t pick and choose which music to upgrade. It’s an all or nothing approach, which really sucks. I have some DRM tracks sitting in my library which could easily be added to a smart list named “oops” or “wtf was I thinking?”, yet if I choose to upgrade my library those tracks would have to be included. This really sucks. And from reading some others reports, even though 8 million tracks are now available in iTunes Plus, they aren’t all showing up in the Library Upgrade yet. So my total still has room to increase, as I have over 500 DRM tracks in my library right now.
